  • An organization, called Let's Do It, has launched a campaign to plant one million trees across Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The organization ‘Let’s Do It’, that has planned several cleaning actions in Bosnia and Herzegovina so far with the support of United Nations, has arranged yet another volunteer action. On October 24th, a large volunteer action of planting trees called ‘Let’s Do It-Million Plantings for One Day’, is organized for one day throughout the entire territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Idea for this project came from a fact that in Bosnia and Herzegovina forests do not receive enough care although they represent one of the greatest natural resources in this country.

Last year, when first cleaning action was organized, 105 municipalities in Bosnia and Herzegovina participated including more than 37 500 volunteers that collected over 5 500 tons of garbage and also planted numerous trees.

Planting one million trees with help from more than 20 000 volunteers is this action's main goal. Raising awareness and educating the public on environmental protection and the importance of forest ecosystems will also be in focus through media campaigns, round tables, promotions and other activities.
